i just put a little bit of lemon juice in my hair with a toothbrush and i dont see highlights. i have brownish with a little bit of red hair. And my hair is soft, thin, and silky. Now im afraid its gonna ruin everything! Im really scared. Someone please help me! And will i get nice highlights like i bargained for?? Someone help me!!!!!!! (i didnt go out into the sun)

you don't immediately see any difference. You need to apply heat such as the sun or a blow dryer to get it to work. I can't honestly say if you will be happy with the results. My friends did this in High School and I thought their hair looked like crap but other people liked it...so who knows. It looked orange and brassy.

If you are worried just wash your hair...you said you just did it so wash the hair and you are okay.

It'll be fine, and it won't make that big of a difference since you didn't go in the sun. If you want highlights, go get them done, do NOT use a box of stuff at home, that sh*t is terrible.

IF you didn't go oout in the sun it won't do anything. Besides I think it has to be done more than once for it to lighten your hair. Go and rinse it out, you'll be fine.

lemon juice won't give you highlights that are really dramatic...it will only lighten your hair a teensy tiny bit.just wash it out with shampoo.

It wont ruin your hair dont worry. For it to work, you have to put it on then sit in the sun for it to activate. I do it all the time andi have highlight streaks in m hair. Hope this helps!

If you want highlights, go to Sally and get the lightener with a 20-30 volume peroxide. Separate everything into chunks and start with a test strand so you can figure out how long to let it sit. You can do this for less than $20.

Dont worry girl, lemon is harmless to your hair. You wont get highlights right away. You should try chamomile instead, it is much gentler and will give u better results.

it won't ruin the texture. if your hair was too dark to begin with it will turn red. are you using heat and leaving it in til it dries

Why do you think it would ruin your hair? It is far better to out in your hair then the chemicals most people use!!

Oh, i was just about to write ,'they will get lighter if you go in the sun, but it's only temporary' but then i read that you didn't go out in the sun. So no worries, just wash your hair. It won't look any different. And you will only get those highlights if you go in the sun with the lemon juice in. Where do you live where you can go out? Its 7 inches of snow here!!! Lucky!
