I have medium brown hair with blonde highlights, and I want to dye my hair myself a reddish color, so I am wondering will I still have some type of highlight?

your hair will alwaysw be lighter where yous hair is lighter in places you cant just put a colour on top and hope it all disappers expically if your hair is bleached then this will deffo make them lighter is you go any color with a slight one of red or pinks/violets they will stand out

if u dye ur hair any color i think there still that slight of some sort of highlights becuz those r bleached, so yea but it wont b that noticeable.

You should do. The lighter bits of your hair will show the colour more brightly, so you ought to have a darker reddish colour all over with a brighter shade where your highlights are.

You would alittle bit. Because your highlights are blonde, and they are much lighter, it will turn out a little lighter. If you are doing it at home, make sure you get your whole hair.

From personal experience, I had highlights in my hair and then used an at home dye and the places my hair was lighter still were lighter when I dyed it but it didn't look as good as when they do it at the salon. Reason is the shade I used was all one color so it looked funky and bad where as at the salon they use different colors which will flatter each other rather than looking faded against the peices that were darker (the right color from the dye)

I hope that make sense and helps. I would suggest if you want to keep a lighter color having a stylist do it at the salon.

yes they will show through a little even though you dye it a different color, especially the more you wash your hair. this is actually how i do my color, i have brown hair and i put some chunky golden blond highlights in. then i dye over it a light brown and in about a week of washing, you can see my highlights and it looks really good and natural. im sure there are easier ways of doing this, but i dont have to spend a ton of money to go to a salon and it works for me!
