you can dye the blue over the bleached parts, I do that all the time.

in fact the bleach will make the blue brighter looking then if you were to put the blue on the brown.

I don't think it'd be wise to interfere with the bleach already in your hair. It could cause alot of damage to your hair, and the resulting colour most likely won't be blue if it's mixed with blonde bleach.

Amy,

I wouldn't see why not. I have had my hair almost every color I can think of, but most of the time it's bleached. I've never had any weird reactions when going from bleached to something that doesn't contain bleach (which blue does not). It's going from dyed hair that isn't bleached back to blonde that is the problem. If anything, the blonde highlights will make it easier to go to blue. As long as you are doing it over the highlights. Just make sure that you haven't just done the highlights, unless you are using bleach and ammonia free dye, because you don't want to damage your hair any more than you have to.

ps- just remember, no matter how many answers you get on this, everyones hair is different and handles dye differently. Just be careful!

Yes - blue based dyes need as light a base as possible to give a ood result so if your hair is yellow/blonde the blues should come out fairly well. They generally work even better over white hair so you could always use a toner to remove the yellow tones from your hair if needed. DONT use vegetables over hair that has been conditioned as this acts as a barrier and can stop the dye from sticking. Blue based tones tend to last less time than pink/red based ones so be prepared for re-dyeing regularly, although you could add a little dye to your conditioner to give your hair a little 'top-up' every time you shampoo.
