my hair isn't super black, it's kind of brown in the light... my dream hair is like amanda bynes' highlights in what a girl wants, but with my coloring i don't think that would work...and can anyone provide a link to a color chart?
I have black hair, what color highlights/lowlights would look good?
My hair is super dark too, and now it looks like my avatar's. You could get an all over color of a lighter shade, like a lighter brown, then get caramel or blonde highlights. You could totally do an Amanda Bynes look. If you go to a good hairdresser, you could show her a picture and she could do it just like that. You may have to pay for it but it would be worth it if you really want a change.

I think it would be really cool to put a few dark reds/burgundys in there, and some lighter brown/dark blond. That's how my best friend's hair is... and I think it's awesome :)

I can't help you with the chart, but I can suggest highlights. My best friend has very, very dark brown hair and when she went to change her hair, she was very unsure what color highlights to chose. She ended up doing two different colors, and both looked great.
1) Black. If your hair is not completely black, adding black highlights is a subtle way to add some depth and difference. They wont stand out greatly, but will make a change.
2) Deep Red. If you choose a dark, deep auburn tone, it will really add warmth to your hair, and most likely, skin tone. Don't chose anything too light, it can make it look harsh.
You should also go to the place where you want to get your hair dyed and ask for a consultant. I am sure someone there will be willing to help you find the perfect color.
Good luck!
