Hair help please???highlights?

i have kinda medium/light brown hair and i either want to frost or have highlights put in but i don't know like what color i want or anything and i don't want it to look bad...it's my first time so i need help with the color and stuff so it doesn't look bad

Okay I have been getting my hair done for years. What I always do first is look on the internet find peoples color that I like. And if you cant do that then got into your apt like 15 minutes early and just look through their books. :)

I suggest you get some golden blonde highlights, it really make the brown stand out.

I gotta say it's all about a reputable salon, especially if you have no direction. I don't know about frosting... I've been getting mine highlighted for years and a good stylist will really only use what are called "foils" not the "cap". Usually, the best way to go, which will probably be suggested, is to keep the majority of the highlighting in the front to lighten up your face while lessening it and blending towards the back.

You don't necessarily need to get highlights done, you can be different and do lowlights, or have both! Strawberry blonde with some darker raspberry color might look nice.

Or you can just go with one or the other. I hope for your first time that you are going to a salon, if you don't want to spend that much, you can always go to a local beauty school and they would do it for pretty cheap. Have fun with it...and if you don't like it, try something else!

are u planning on doing this yourself? or is a friend going to do it for you! a fool proof plan is to purchase a highlighting cap! it lets u choose how skinny or chunky u want the highlights to be and where u want them! it does the top half of your hair only, and if its your first time this is what i suggest! if u have light brown hair i also wud suggest going to a dark blonde...as the sun is going to lighten them over time anyways so it wont b a dramatic change it will gradually get lighter over time, have your friend pull the strands through for you and opt for a low volume developer and powder bleach(equal parts of each) u shud b able to achieve results in about 10min jus keep checking it to achieve the color your looking for, u wont have to color it after the bleach should giv u the effect u want! MAKE SURE U USE A LARGE AMOUNT OF BLEACH to cover the strand from root to tip, if u dont your hair will b all sorts of different colors, make sure your strands are covered in bleach , remember, pull strands first then put bleach on for about 10min keep checking if u want to rush it use a blow dryer to speed results! if u DO NOT recieve the color u want or if it is too redish gold and not blonde purchase a toner from a beauty supply store hope i helped!
