I have dark brown hair and want to put in highlights again, but usually what I buy turns out too red. I want a warm brown. Anyone with dark brown hair tried something they liked?

I have dark brown hair and i just recently highlighted mine. I used frost and glow by revlon. I have used this a few times and have been satisfied everytime that I used it. Your hair will definitly turn blonde and not red. Good luck

Use a cooler color. It will eliminate the red tone and bring out the ash. Thus having a normal HIghlight.

I get my hair bleached but no matter what; GO TO A PRO. lifting your hair color from a darker color to a light one can damage your hair and if you dont know what youre doing it can even fall out. So my advice to you- go to a pro

Avoid the 'warm' tones and things labeled "golden"

I dye my black/brown hair completely blond

(it comes out a warm golden brown/blond color)

The way I do it is to use an ash blond, which is considered a "cool" color.

This way, the reddish tones in my hair come out more in the golden tone that I like.

So remember to search the ASH or COOL tones ...
