I bleached all the color out of my hair (naturally darker brown) and put a champagne beige toner on it (bleached it 5 months ago). I haven't added a toner for about a month.
I'd like to go back to a medium/dark brown and add honey highlights to the top and front.
I heard I had to go red (to add pigment back) then to brown. I understand that part.
What I want to know is how to get the honey highlights after that. do i rebleach the strands (of newly colored hair) I want highlighted and put a toner on that?
help! :)
Can I dye bleached hair a medium/dark brown and add highlights back to it in the same day?
First of all, evaluate the condition of your hair. If it is damaged and dry then you need to wait. Repair your hair and get a trim. wait maybe 2 months. Then go to a professional salon, never do it at home. and dye it a light brown with a tint of red. then wait 2 1/2 months or so to do it again. It will take about 3 months for your hair to become the color you want it to be. your want your hair to be healthy and not dead.

You bleach the strands that you want, but DO NOT re-dye it the same day. I did that once, and my hair turned ugly brownish color, and it was fried for 2 months.

yeah you can redye your hair but wait a day to put the highlights in and the best way to do that is maybe frost your hair this way it is getting done accurately or go to a professional and get alittle bit more advise. Because if you dye hair to much you can have your hair fall out or its really dried out and fried trust me on this I know by experience and the sulfur acid bleach with dye
